I'm really not happy with Whereby. I've tried contacting them several times about the ongoing charges, but when I check my account, it shows that it's free, so I can't find a way to cancel. Just got billed again, and every time I reach out, I hear nothing back. Not sure what's up with that, and their customer support is totally unresponsive.

For those who love slow videos, dropped connections, and unhappy customers, this is surely the gadget for you. They invested more cash and effort into making the interface look nice than in the actual tech.

Whereby is a solid option as it offers a straightforward alternative to the major video conferencing platforms that compromise privacy and engage in questionable business practices. However, it does have some issues with compatibility on browsers like Safari and, it seems, Explorer. For example, I invited a colleague to a whereby.com meeting, but his job only allows him to use Explorer on his work computer. We ended up switching to Skype because he was getting annoyed with Whereby’s interface. I've faced similar issues on Safari, so I always use Firefox now. I also wish Whereby would include an optional feature to track conversations held on the platform. Back when I primarily used Skype, I relied on it to monitor my time with various clients. Nonetheless, I value this budget-friendly alternative and hope it keeps getting better.
